Many people work on the job making appearances in the Ronald McDonald costume, visiting children in hospitals and brighten up their days and building not only their own, but the self esteem of whom they visit. Since August 2003, McDonald has been officially recognized as the "Chief Happiness Officer" of the McDonald`s Corporation. Ronald McDonald is a clown who is the primary mascot of the McDonald`s fast-food restaurant chain. The McDonald`s Corporation has also characterized Ronald McDonald as being able to speak 31 different languages including Mandarin, Dutch, Tagalog, and Hindi. There are also Ronald McDonald Houses, where parents can stay overnight when visiting sick children in nearby chronic care facilities. In television commercials, the clown inhabits a fantasy world called McDonaldland, and has adventures with his friends Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie the Early Bird, and The Fry Kids.

Big Mac
McDonald`s also features our long standing menu item: The Big Mac. Both tasty and incredible affordable, the Big Mac has been with us for years and will stay that way. Our Premium Crispy Chicken Club is also on the menu for you to enjoy. The Big Mac sandwich is a type of cheeseburger, a signature sandwich sold by the McDonald`s chain of fast-food restaurants since 1968, made with beef patties, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onion, with a "special sauce" and a sesame seed bun. According to a famous advertising jingle, it consists of "two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun", though the most distinctive feature is a middle layer of bread used to stabilize contents and prevent spillage. Tasty and filling, the Big Mac meal is just one of the many selections we offer here at McDonald`s. The Big Mac was invented in 1967 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania by Jim Delligatti, an alumnus of Michigan State University`s School of Hospitality Business and one of McDonald`s franchisees. Customer response to the Big Mac was so good that it rolled out nationally in 1968. The Premium Crispy Chicken Club is also a delectable item on the menu.
